Reverend Dr. Carroll R. Dickens

The Reverend Dr. Carroll R. Dickens Sr., is the pastor of Patillo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Henrico, NC; Boone’s Chapel Baptist Church of Jackson, NC and Cumbo Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Rich Square, NC. Upon receiving his call to ministry from our Lord and Savior, Dr. Dickens became licensed and ordained as a minister by the Neuse River Missionary Association of Rocky Mount, North Carolina in September 1999. His initial service was as Assistant Pastor of Boone’s Chapel. In 1999 he was the introduction pastor at Patillo Chapel and through much prayer and blessings from God, Dr. Dickens became the Pastor of Patillo Chapel in 2000. In 2001, Dr. Dickens graduated from the Eastern North Carolina Theological Institute in Weldon, NC where he received his Bachelors of Theology (B. Th.). He also received his Masters of Divinity in 2003 and was conferred with his Doctorate of Ministry Degree, honoris causa, in July of 2006. Embracing the scripture “Blessed in the city, blessed in the field, blessed when we come and when we go” our Pastor has received numerous awards and accolades for his hard work and dedication in the ministry and the community as a whole. In September 2004, Pastor Dickens received the “Exemplary Award” for Dedicated Service to the Community from the Northampton County Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). For his faithfulness in spreading the Gospel, the Lord blessed Pastor Dickens to be able to share his message with the Masses, through local broadcast television. Doing all things in an excellent way, Pastor Dickens is a devoted family man who is married to Jacqueline Harris Dickens; they share two sons, Floyd and Carroll Jr. and two grandsons Cortez Dickens and William Mikel Dickens; two granddaughters Mikayla Mason and Morgan Dickens. Pastor Dickens also went to school and completed his engineer training in South Carolina in 2000. He is now employed with Nucor Steel Company in Hertford, North Carolina.
